Dr. Schwartz was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Brooklyn College of Pharmacy in 1962, and received his DO from Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1967.
After completing his internship at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, Dr. Schwartz served as a battalion surgeon for the US Army in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal with "V" for Valor, and the Purple Heart.
Following his discharge from the Army, Dr. Schwartz established Stone Mountain Medical Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
He currently lives in Stone Mountain, where he's served the community for more than 28 years.
